The NCAA and the FBI are continuing their investigations into the behavior of Cam Newton’s father, Cecil (pictured at far left with Cam), as it pertains to the recruitment of his son by Mississippi State University last year.  Mr. Newton has been accused of allegedly asking for upwards of $180,000.00 from MSU to sign his son.  Part of the probe has been focusing on the elder Newton’s church in Newnan, GA, Holy Zion Center of Deliverance.  Rumors have persisted that Cecil Newton’s plan was to use money received from MSU to fund repairs to the church which had been tagged by the City of Newnan for not having met code in parts of the church’s building.  Meanwhile, Cam continues his quest to lead the Auburn Tigers to a SEC and BCS championship.  The team will face its stiffest test this week in the Iron Bowl which pits the Tigers against in-state rival Alabama.
