Prospects have 10 seconds to grab a college coach’s attention.

That’s all. Whether on paper, online or in person, athletes either reel them in or lose them, that’s right, in 10 short seconds.

How’s that supposed to happen, you ask? I deserve more consideration than that, you say. Both are good points.

Reality is reality and you’ve got to get the job done in 10 seconds. Okay, you may have a tad more time in person, especially if a coach specifically came to scout you. On the other hand, if coaches haven’t targeted you beforehand, the 10-second rule applies.

It can be cruel or it can be your advantage.

At NSR we know this and we do the things with our chosen student-athletes which definitely put them in the position to be noticed. Our promotional materials are specifically geared to grab a coach, graphically and otherwise, and make him or her want to know more.

Here’s a few examples of how we do it:

  • Personal Web page. Each of our prospects has a personal Web page that is easy to access for coaches. We are experts at giving coaches the details they need to make quick calls on whether or not to move ahead with a prospect. Families cannot get this on free sites. NSR gets the athletes website in front of the college coaches.
  • Promo materials. Coaches can’t spend a lot of time trying to get to the info needed to evaluate a prospect. Our direct mail program is perfect for college coaches and our prospects benefit from our spot-on, one-page brochures. This is just one example of the many effective tools used by NSR to get athletes college offers.
  • Video clips. Our crisply edited videos, usually less than five minutes, give college coaches a view of the athlete they need and want. Parents and prospects are uninformed about this key component and typically miss the mark. It is a science that we have developed and it works wonders for NSR prospects.
  • Personal preparation. We are adamant about educating our athletes on how to impress college coaches. We provide them with a personal scout and home office staff for one-on-one advice. NSR understands that college recruiting is all about personal relationships. Recruiting solutions will always have skin on it. It will be a real scout that helps the athlete get that well deserved scholarship.

The problem? Most parents, prospects and coaches don’t have the expertise necessary to snatch a coach from a busy schedule. That is why most coaches toss info which comes from families. Parents, to college coaches, are unreliable sources.

NSR scouts live and work in the areas they scout. They visit college campuses, develop relationships with coaches there as well as at tournaments, combines and showcases. And our scouts work as a one to help promote athletes across America. You cannot get that anywhere else!

So, will you be ready for your 10-second encounter with a college coach? Or will you roll the dice and hope that you are found in the sea of athletes trying to stand out.

Only National Scouting Report and its team of professional scouts can put you up front to get noticed.
