Elizabeth Pattison

In her essay to college coaches, our Female Athlete of the Day, Elizabeth Pattison, talks about her desire to play at the collegiate level as well as her academic aspirations when she says, “I want to play volleyball at the collegiate level for a very simple reason. Whether I am watching, coaching or playing, this sport brings me JOY! When I am on the court during a heated match, I am my happiest and my best.  I cannot imagine being unable to play during my college years because I do not want this incredible experience to end. Through volleyball I have made wonderful friendships, felt a deep sense of belonging, and been encouraged both on and off the court.  I hope to have a college coach who will help me reach me my full potential as a volleyball player and as an individual.   I want a coach who has a love of the game and respect for players. I dream of being able to continue to share my passion for volleyball with my future coach and team members who feel the same. Not only am I an excellent player on the court, I am also a strong, self-motivated student in the classroom.  Academics play a large role in my plans to play college ball. It is of the utmost importance for me to earn a college degree because statistics show that those who earn a degree are more successful throughout life and have a higher standard of living. I have always been intrigued by calculations and solving equations. I plan to major in accounting.”  Attending Cuthbertson High School in Waxhaw, North Carolina, Elizabeth is a 5’11” hitter/blocker who carries a very impressive 4.4 GPA.  Her NSR scout is Mike Ostler and he says about Elizabeth, “Elizabeth Pattison is an athlete!  Blessed with a defensive ability to block that is extraordinary.  She is able to position herself to anticipate where the ball will be.  Long, quick and powerful are words that describe Elizabeth on the court.  She is a team player, encourager and passionate leader of her teams.  Able to play both MB and right side and plays the back row with excellence as well!  This hard worker will be a great addition to your team and to your campus.”
