Jerry Bauer

We are very proud to announce that Jerry Bauer is our Male Athlete of the Day.  There is no downside to this exceptional young man from Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Illinois.  Andrew Novelli is his NSR scout and in his scouting report Andrew voices Jerry’s considerable talents, “Incredible scholar-athlete with the versatility to play the center, guard, or tackle position. Currently 6’2, 220 with a 4.63 GPA and 33 ACT. Competes for one of the top teams and rushing attacks in the state. Great footwork – quick off the line and sets the edge. Has a high football IQ. Always working to add strength and mass. Very mature and grounded for his age. Takes a heavy workload of all honors and AP courses. Interested in pursuing a career in Engineering. Dad is a Lutheran pastor and is very involved in church and community while maintaining a few part-time jobs. Also a musician in his free time, Jerry will be a valuable asset to any collegiate football program.”  In his essay to college coaches, Jerry says, “I am a dedicated student on the field, but more importantly off the field as evidenced by my 4.63 GPA and 33 ACT. Since middle school, all of my core classes have been either Honors or Advanced Placement. I take very seriously the title of “student athlete” and I strive to be the best at both. Many things set me apart from other lineman. My quickness and footwork allows me to dominate bigger defenders. I have a very high football IQ and am always thinking one step ahead of the defense. My ultimate goal is to play football for a big-time academic university.  On the field I am a very versatile lineman. I played every single position on the offensive line last year and started four games at center, four games at tackle, and two games at guard. Quickness and a high football IQ have enabled me to adapt and overcome at every position. I will be a very strong asset to any college team.”
