  • Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center as soon as possible.
  • Raise your GPA as high as possible.
  • Take and retake the SAT and/or ACT as soon as possible.
  • Ask somebody to shoot and/or reshoot video of you.
  • Communicate regularly with college coaches.
  • Answer all of your emails from college coaches.
  • Try to create competition among college coaches.
  • Consider out-of-state colleges.
  • Visit college campuses.
  • Contact National Scouting Report for a free evaluation.

DON’TS

  • Wait until your junior or senior year of high school to start the recruiting process.
  • Try to navigate the recruiting process alone.
  • Think college coaches will find you if you’re good enough to play.
  • Think college coaches will discover you at camps, tournaments and showcases.
  • Limit your options to NCAA Division I and II schools.
  • Limit your options to schools close to home.
  • Depend on high school or club coaches to get you recruited.
  • Think talent alone will get you offers.
  • Settle for only one offer.
  • Wait to contact National Scouting Report for a free evaluation.
