National Scouting Report and youth coaches are a perfect match.

Coaches are challenged every day, every practice and every game to teach their athletes fundamentals, game tactics and overall team strategies. Those things alone take up nearly all their time.

In fact, most people would wilt under the work required to develop individual skills, teach advanced concepts and create an environment where team members want to strive for excellence at all times. Coaching is a daunting task, to say the very least.

Coaching is a daunting task, to say the very least.

How much time, then, realistically remains for coaches to promote their athletes to college coaches. Most parents believe that marketing their child is part and parcel of a coach’s job. It’s not.

Yes, some coaches do manage to squeeze in a few minutes here and there to make a call, send an email or text a to a few college coaches. They are unique. Most don’t have the time or connections to make that happen.

That’s where NSR scouts come into the picture. Realizing that their time and reach are limited, high school, club and travel coaches are turning to NSR and their scouts in increasing numbers across America.

With the expertise to properly and aggressively promote athlete to college coaches at all levels, coupled with the advantage of NSR scouts living and working nearby, NSR offers coaches the opportunity to see all their qualified, deserving athletes get noticed, evaluated and recruited at levels and by colleges that best fit each individual.

NSR scouts, 200-plus of them in the United States, work hand-in-hand with coaches. Together they accurately assess a full team’s athletes, conduct personal interviews with the athletes that appear ready for college, and then work with qualifying families intent on giving their athletes a recruiting advantage.

Stacey Harris is a veteran NSR scout in the Bay Area of California.

“I’ve been working with teams  and their coaches for a lot of years. It is so rewarding to stand alongside a coach at an athletes signing ceremony knowing that together we changed his or her life forever,” Harris said.

It all starts with a recruiting seminar. A locally-based NSR scout, taught to understand NCAA and NAIA recruiting rules, addresses the team, parents and coaches about the basics of recruiting, including the academic standards required to become eligible to play college athletics. This seminar provides details the athletes and parents would not get elsewhere.

Las Vegas, Nevada, is where Clair Rogers scouts for NSR.

“When I stand in front of a team and parents, I consistently get two major impressions from them. First, they listen because no one has taken the time, or has the knowledge, to give them vital recruiting information. Second, they are stunned to find out how far behind they are in the process,” Rogers explained. I always walk away thanking the coach for caring enough about his athletes to have me educate them on something really important to many of them.”

Said Robby Wilson, NSR’s national softball director, “Coaches that team with us never regret it because we treat their kids and parents with respect, and we get results so much faster than if they depended upon the coaches or tried to do it themselves. I have a lot of coaches who refer their players to us because we have proven that we will do what we say and we are local, too. We are both protecting our reputations and have each other’s back.”

In nearly 37 years of working with high school athletes, all the while watching as other services have come and gone, NSR remains the most steadfast scouting organization in America.

Coaches in every corner of the country are calling on NSR to help their athletes. And it’s working.
