All across America, dozens of National Scouting Report football prospects signed letters of intent Wednesday on National Signing Day.

From early morning through late evening, Larry Perrin, National Football Director, attended signings in person or posted them on NSR’s recruiting tracker.

It was an eventful, rewarding day.

“As a company that represents top-notch high school football prospects, we could not be happier,” Perrin said.  “The fact that our prospects signed scholarship offers in such a wide array of schools signals that we effectively get our prospects in front of football coaches everywhere, that coaches respect our kids and scouts, and that we are the right, best choice for any prospect, from D-I to JUCO, wanting to advance.”

NSR prospects signed at every level of college football — from Big Five conference schools to NAIA and JUCO programs. Many more are expected to sign before the end of the NCAA football signing period on April 1.

The breadth of the 2016 class indeed signifies how NSR accurately evaluates prospects and helps set them on the right recruiting track while advising them and their parents along the way.  This is a huge advantage to families unfamiliar with how recruiting really works.  It’s even more important for parents who think they know how it works, but really are in the dark.

“Parents are always surprised when we come into their homes, interview their athletes and learn the full recruiting process, especially how long it takes to properly position an athlete for eventual success,” Perrin said.  “They are taken aback by all the steps and hard work needed to actually generate the outcome they imagined in the first place.”

Then there’s the coaches’ side of the equation.  Asked why NSR prospects obviously attract coaches at all levels of competition, Perrin was forthright in his answer.

“The foundation of our success rests on choosing the right prospects to represent,” he said. “Families can’t just line up or call us and enroll their athlete, like many other scouting services do.  We are not telemarketers.  We scout each prospect in person.

“Frankly, we don’t care about the volume of prospects we enroll.  Instead, we care deeply about the sense of quality each one brings to college coaches and their programs.  It’s a workmanlike approach, which is to say that we do a lot of work up front, enroll them and then lay the groundwork for our kids.  Their online profiles and videos do the rest, for the most part.

“However, every NSR scout impresses upon the athletes we work with about the importance of developing strong relationships with college coaching staffs. That doesn’t happen overnight.”

All of that adds up to a lot of success stories during college signing periods. NSR works with high school athletes in every sport offered by the NCAA.

“I am so proud of the work we have done, our scouts and our home office,” Perrin said. “I think that because we genuinely care about our athletes and work with them closely on the front end that so many of them get to live their dreams of playing college sports. Today, though, it’s all about football, and I’m really happy for all our prospects that signed.”
