Brookhaven Academy Star QB Ready for the Next Level
NSR 2011 prospect Brookhaven Academy‘s Chandler Rogers is considered one of Mississippi’s top prep QB. He showed his versatility two Friday’s ago by completing 11 of 18 passes for 202 yards and rushing for 113 yards (5 TDs) in a 42-13 runaway with Central Hinds. It was the 20th consecutive victory for the Cougars (5-0, 2-0 in District 4-AA), ranked No. 1 in the Academy AA rankings. Moreover, it’s the state’s longest current winning streak (MAIS or MHSAA.) For his career, so far, Chandler has tossed 68 touchdown passes.
The 6’3″, 200-pounder hass a 4.69 best time in the 40-yard dash. A good student, too, Chandler carries a GPA of 3.95. His considerable list of honors include:
- Named National Private School Athletic Association First Team All-America
- Named National Private School Athletic Association National Quarterback of the Year
- Named Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year
- Named 2009 Southern Sports & Travel Player of the Year
- 2009 State AA Champions 15-0
Chandler hasn’t received any offers yet but is hearing from Ole Miss (unofficial visit two weeks ago), University of Southern Mississippi, Middle Tennessee, Arkansas State and Auburn.
