Zach Maldonado

Our Male Athlete of the Day is from Burnet High School in Burnet, Texas.  Zach Maldonado is a 2012 running b ack and slot receiver signed to play football next year at Wayland Baptist University in
Plainview, Texas.  This past fall the speedster was named to the First Team All-District Team as well as the First Team All-Academic Team.  Randy Evans is Zach’s NSR scout and in his scouting report Randy says, “Zach is a very gifted athlete with tremendous quickness. He demonstrates excellent vision and knows how to set up blockers to gain more yards. He has superior ball skills and very good hands. He has been used as a running back, inside receiver, kick-returner and punt-returner and averaged almost 10 yards every time he touched the ball and scored 11 touchdowns which gave him an average of 1 TD for every 10 touches.”  To college coaches, Zach said, ” I am a determined person who is willing to do whatever it takes to make my team better. I am the same on the field as I am off. I don’t get pressured into doing things, I make smart decisions and go off what I know is best for myself. As an athlete you will never have to worry about me off the field.”
