The NSR Difference: On-the-Ground Scouting vs. Cubicle Counselors

National Scouting Report is dedicated to finding scholarship opportunities for athletes who possess the talent, desire, and motivation to compete at the collegiate level. We’ve helped connect thousands of athletes with their perfect college.

NSR is unique in that we have on-the-ground scouts whose first priority is to scout high school, travel and club events in a variety of sports.

Scouting in person (on-the-ground) separates us from other so-called scouting organizations whose primary method of signing prospects is to purchase tournament books and then divy the rosters to what we call “cubicle counselors” who then make blind calls to unsuspecting kids without ever having actually scouted, or personally obeserved, the kids perform.  That’s not scouting. That’s telemarketing.

As proof of our business model, the following is an email we received this week from Andrew Novelli, Chicagoland NSR Area Director. Read carefully and you will “get” what we do at NSR and why college coaches view NSR as the most reliable source for high school prospects in America.

NSR Scouts & Licensees:

After sending you information on women’s lacrosse a few months back, this email will provide you with more information on the Indian Prairie Showdown & First Look Combine next month.

I have attached some details on each event. The combine will be on Thurs, July 28th and the tournament runs from Fri. July 29th – Sun. July 31st. We are looking to have close to 100 girls for the combine. The biggest day with the most lacrosse being played will be on Saturday. Ideally, you will want to be there for the Combine on Thursday and stay until Saturday.

NSR will be very involved in both events. We will be giving recruiting seminars throughout the weekend, have a tent for prospects, parents and coaches to learn more about NSR, and we will be sending NSR scouts out to watch teams from all over the midwest and southeast.

I have been working closely with Players Indoor to ensure that we will have all the necessary information we will need to properly identify and scout these prospects. This is a great opportunity for us all to scout some of the top lacrosse players in our areas. I now have already enrolled a good number of girl lacrosse prospects and each has received great responses from coaches through NSR’s exposure and promotional efforts. There is a great need and we are the right scouts and company to help these kids!

I have also attached the team list for the tournament. There will be approximately 48 high schools teams from all over. It’s looking like there will be 10 from IL, 11 from MI, 8 from OH, 5 from WI, and numerous from MN, MO, TN, FL, GA, IN & KY. I have already received interest from NSR licensees and scouts Mike Schuelke and Steve LeMay of Michigan, Tim Chaney and Bill Davis in Tennessee, and Jason Lauren of Wisconsin. Anyone else interested please shoot me back an email or give me a call to talk further. I want to iron out the details as soon as possible so I can report back to Players Indoor.

Thanks for the time and I’m looking forward to seeing you at our national meeting in August down in Panama City!
