Adrena Daw

At NSR we are always proud to promote out client-prospects.  But every once in awhile one stands above the rest in their area with exceptional accomplishments.  NSR 2013 softball prospect, Adrena Daw, just completed her junior year at Walter Panas High School in Cortland Manor, NY.  Adrena has been contributing to her school all season as a student-athlete.  And for her outstanding performance in the classroom and on the softball diamond, she has won the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Award.  This award is bestowed upon student-athletes that excel academically as well as athletically.  Adrena closed out her high school season with a batting average of .466 while leading her team with 10 home runs, including two grand slams, 34 RBI, a slugging percentage of .959, and an on-base percentage of .506.  Adrena only struck out three times in 79 plate appearances.  When not hammering balls all over the field, Adrena proved her versatility in the field playing center field, shortstop and behind the plate.  Her on field performance earned her All-Section I Honorable Mention and All-League First Team honors.  Adrena carries an impressive 3.8 GPA and plans to major in Sports Medicine in college.  In her essay to college coaches, Adrena says, “It is my dream to play softball in college.  More importantly, I want to major in sports medicine and become an orthopedic surgeon.  The schools for my major tend to be in the Southeast or Mid-Atlantic though I am open to schools in the Northeast or Northwest.  The size of the school does not matter to me.  My goals are to play softball in college at the highest competition level and to be a positive influence on a team.  The combination of a strong mind and a strong body is the balance I seek in pursuing my career and athletics.”  Adrena’s NSR scout is Cary Nadel who covers Connecticut.
