Holing Out Twice in 72 Hours a Rare Feat

Bryan Belz

NSR golf prospect, Brian Belz, from Lakeside High in Hot Springs, AR, did something twice over three days which many lifetime golfers never achieve once — a hole-in-one.  In the quarter finals of the ASGA Junior Boys Match played at Eagle Hill Creek Club in Little Rock, Brian stepped to the tee of the 137-yard 14th hole, pulled a pitching wedge from his bag and promptly knocked the ball into the hole.  The ace put him 1-up in his match against Parker Rice of Conway.  (Rice eagled the par-5 18th to win 1-up and advance to the semi-finals).  That hole-in-one was Brian’s second in 72 hours. Two days prior, after the qualifying round of the Junior Match, he knocked an 8-iron in the hole on #2 at Hot Springs Country Club while playing with a friend, Austin Hunt.  The 2012 grad carries a 3.2 GPA and plans to major in Business upon entering college.  His NSR scout is Rodney Stroud, Arkansas Area Director.
