Tracking the former NSR prospect and Heisman candidate through the 2010 season.

Week 6:  The Sooners had an open date this week.
Week 7:  OU plays Iowa State in Norman this Saturday.
Landry and the Sooners take on ISU on Saturday.
Former NSR prospect and Oklahoma QB Landry Jones is one of the top NCAA Division I quarterbacks in the nation.  With recent letdowns by Arkansas’ Ryan Mallett and Michigan’s Denard Robinson, we should begin hearing Landry’s name mentioned more prominently in Heisman conversations.  For the year, Landry’s passing efficiency is an excellent 137.35.  He’s 133 of 208 passing attempts with only three interceptions against eleven TD’s for an average of 291.4 yards per game.  Iowa State will not be Landry’s toughest test of the year, but ISU has a reputation for pulling off at least one big upset each year.  And, as we have previously noted in recent T*W*I*S features, it appears that anything is possible this year in college sports.  Still, we anticipate that Landry will post big numbers against the Cyclones.  Check back with us next week to see how well he played.
