No way anybody is about to take Jordan Hodge‘s gun away.

Get this: The 5’10” junior softball catcher from Station Camp High in Hendersonville, Tennessee, has a pop time of 1.68. You read that right – from the time a pitch hits her glove behind the plate until her throw hits the fielder’s glove at second base, only 1.68 seconds have elapsed. That, my friend, is pop.

And Jordan’s ability to gun the ball to second turned the head of NSR national softball leader Robby Wilson. And college coaches are noticing, too.

Jordan Hodge
Junior Jordan Hodge excels on the field and in the classroom.

“Jordan will be a huge asset at the next level,” says, Wilson.  Standing 5’10” and 150 solid, she (already) plays, acts and represents herself like a college player. She’s very aggressive at keeping runners at bay and commands and controls the game like few catchers I’ve seen. Offensively a clear 3-hole kid hitting with gap-to-gap power. Jordan is a positive, hungry, devoted young lady who can legitimately compete in Division I.”

Carrying a perfect GPA (4.0), Jordan has yet to get a B in high school and plans to enter Pre-med in college. So far, her academic honors include being a nominee as a an academic delegate representing the Tennessee Congress of Future Scientists, earning an internship at Vanderbilt University for Medical Careers, landing a National Spanish Exam Award, and being accepted into National Honor Society.

Last fall for the 15U Tennessee Angels Premier travel team, Jordan showed she carries a big stick, too, with a batting average of .509 along with an OBP of .518.

Jordan says it best when she explains her abilities, “Off-season conditioning and building my strength has been a key. I set a goal each game to accomplish to keep my game strong no matter the circumstances. One achievement I am proud of is being chosen to be a part of the USSSA All-American Select Team last year 2015 and being a USSSA Top Performer.”

“My motivation comes from this quote: “I may not be there yet, but I was closer than yesterday”,” she continues. Softball is big for me, but my education is my main focus. I work in school like I would work on the field, and with the same mind set. Challenging myself mentally and physically has made me who I am today and is still helping me grow as an athlete and a young lady. I have a big place in my heart for my community and I have devoted my life to Jesus Christ as my savior.”

Imagine what a college coach thinks when he or she looks at Jordan’s NSR Web site and video then reads her words to them.

Then think about this – with NSR’s full array of promotions putting her profile and video in the hands of every college coach in America, every month, as well as her Web page with all that included online 24/7, do you think she will be recruited?

Point made.
