Dayna Hunn

Another former NSR prospect is making her mark at the next level.  Dayna Hunn, who hails from Williston High in Morriston, FL, is a first year softball player and she has earned a spot on Florida Southern’s senior-dominated lineup. Going into last Tuesday’s doubleheader, Hunn was hitting .385 with six RBI out of the #7 spot in the batting order. She added to those numbers in game one with an RBI single in the second inning that put Florida Southern ahead 2-1, and blew the game open with a two-run triple in the fourth. She then swiped home as part of a double steal, to complete the Mocs’ four-run fourth and give them a 6-1 lead.  The Moccasins (11-2) ended up with seven runs on 11 hits in the game, despite a 1-for-12 performance from the top three hitters in the lineup, a group that started the day all hitting .359 or better. It didn’t seem to affect the offense though, as the four through seven spots went 9-for-14 with five RBI and six runs scored, spurred by Dayna’s big day at the plate.   The 5’6″ utility player is majoring in Biology.  Her NSR scout is Dave Johnson, North Central Florida AD.
