Dynamic Running Back Led the Nation in Rushing in 2010

David Mora

Our Male Athlete of the Day is David Mora, a 2012, 5’7″ 175-pound running back from Mason High School in Mason, Texas.  He has twice been named the Texas 1A Player of the Year and last week was awarded the Most Valuable Player trophy following his team’s 2011 State Championship win over Stamford, 62-40.  In the title game, he had 41 carries for 258  yards and five touchdowns.  David is a three-time, All-State running back.  In his three seasons as a starter, David rushed for 7,638 rushing yards.  In 2010 he led the nation in rushing with 3,572 yds, setting a Texas State high school record with 498 carries.  He also is a standout in the classroom, sporting a 3.5 GPA.   His NSR scout is Texas Heartland AD, Jason Espinoza.
