Some dreams are written down. Others are lived.
In 2016, a freshman at Decatur High School named Jordan Walker joined National Scouting Report with one clear vision for his future. In his personal message inside the NSR athlete portal, he wrote:
“My goal is to play Major League Baseball.”
It was a bold statement from a young athlete—but one that reflected the confidence, work ethic, and determination that would define his career.
From the very beginning, Jordan was identified and evaluated by NSR as a special talent with tremendous potential. Our scouts recognized not only his physical tools, but also the mindset and drive that separated him from his peers. By getting on the radar early, Jordan was able to maximize his recruiting and development opportunities while continuing to pursue his ultimate goal.
That goal became reality in 2020 when Jordan was selected in the MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Today, his story has reached even greater heights.
Jordan has become one of Major League Baseball’s brightest young stars, earning his first MLB All-Star selection and putting on a show for baseball fans around the world by winning the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby. These accomplishments are milestones that reflect years of dedication, perseverance, and relentless hard work.
While Jordan’s talent has always been undeniable, his journey is also a reminder of the importance of being identified and evaluated early. Early exposure allows athletes to receive honest evaluations, develop a plan, and put themselves in the best position to achieve their goals. Jordan embraced that process from the beginning, and his success is a testament to what can happen when talent meets preparation.
