A lifelong athlete, Coach Cary played football, baseball and swam in high school. In college Coach Cary swam as well. Since college Coach Cary has stayed active athletically skiing, playing softball, and race car driving (NASCAR-style truck). In addition to scouting highly qualified student-athletes in the Northeast, Coach Cary is the head ski team coach at Fairfield Prep in CT (4-time CT state champions) and the co-head softball coach with the CT Rebels. In between these endeavors, Coach Cary finds time to be a ski instructor at the Thunder Ridge Ski Area in NY. We at NSR do what we do, not only for the love of sports, but more importantly, to help change the lives of young men and women, who will be the future leaders of our great country.

Coach Shomo comes to National Scouting Report with twelve years of experience as an NCAA Volleyball Head Coach. During her recent seven-year tenure at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts, Shomo coached 8 student-athletes to garner All-Conference accolades including two Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year. Before WNEU, Shomo was the head coach at Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts for five years and remains the winningest coach in program history. A college athlete herself, Coach Shomo played four years of NCAA volleyball at Western New England University as an outside hitter. You can still find her on the indoor court or sand court on the weekends competing in tournaments across New England. In addition to her role as a coach, Sam is a passionate educator and lifelong learner. With her Master's of Education, Shomo taught courses in Sports Leadership and Health and Wellness at both WNEU and Anna Maria College. She holds certifications as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and a Group Fitness Instructor; and she is always seeking her next opportunity for growth!

Born in Connecticut, Alex has been playing baseball basically since he could walk. He has played for multiple recreational and travel leagues, and played for RHAM High School in Hebron, CT, as well. He currently plays every summer for the Connecticut Adult Baseball League. However, after tearing his ACL in high school, Alex chose not to play in college. Because of this, he wants to help give high school students the chance that he never got: playing college sports. Alex is currently based in southeastern Connecticut and is an avid New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.
