Take Action if You Want to Move to the Next Level

Californian Sophia Blaszyk didn't wait and now she's committed to Hawaii Pacific University.

Are you sitting there wondering when a college coach will call?  Do you believe that if you make All-Conference, All-Region or even All-State that a coach will knock on your door?  Are you hoping that if your team has a good year that a coach will want to sign you?  If so, you are wrong on all counts.  Recruiting does not work that way.  Those days are long, long gone.

To be recruited you first have to be recognized and coaches don’t recruit from articles in the newspaper or from online pieces.  You have to go to them.  Sit and you will be overlooked, never to be seen, evaluated or recruited.

Your coaches, high school or club, don’t have time to promote you to colleges.  They’re working 50 to 70 hours a week just doing their day jobs and coaching practices and games.  Plus, they weren’t hired, nor are they being paid, to run a marketing campaign, including sending video, to college coaches.  It’s just not a part of their job description.

Getting in front of college coaches is on you and your family.  And to that end, you really only have two choices:  do it yourself or get a scouting service to do it for you.

If you elect to go it on your own, expect the cost to be much more than you anticipated.  Then, it will take much longer than you anticipated, too.  Weeks and months may go by before you actually get your profile and video sent out to coaches.  But, let’s say you do somehow put together a package to send to coaches.  Who do you send it to?  One, two, three, maybe four coaches?  And, do you really think that distributing your package once will do the trick?  How long might it sit in the corner on the pile with other self-submitted stuff?  And, with a coach generally in the office only a few hours a day, what is the chance that yours will be picked up and looked at from among all the others?  Sounds a bit foolish, don’t you think?

Give this some serious thought because the opportunity to be recruited will only happen once in your life.  Once.  And there are no do-overs.

You are a product, in essence.  You need to be advertised like a bar of soap or a car or a set of tools.  Right?  Right.  So, does it make any sense to advertise just that once?  No.  What you really need is a continuous advertising, or promotional, effort to get the attention of coaches.

That’s what we do at NSR.  We constantly promote you to college coaches through a variety of effective methods including broad based and targeted tactics.  This approach gives lots of coaches, in fact every coach in your sport in America, the opportunity to see you, to evaluate you and to recruit you.  Our effectiveness is historic.  For 32 years we have been assisting deserving high school student-athletes just like you to realize their dreams of playing college sports.  We are good at it because we have a long tradition of providing coaches with top-quality prospects who have the ability and desire to play at the college level, the academic records to qualify, and the character to become solid contributors to their programs and schools.

If you truly see yourself as a college student-athlete, don’t wait another moment to put yourself in the position to be successful.  Get up and contact NSR or the NSR on-the-ground scout nearest you to schedule a personal, athletic and academic evaluation.  We will not take you on if you don’t have what college coaches want, so expect a clear, honest assessment.  And, if you are qualified, your profile info can be available to college coaches in as little as 24 hours.  Then, watch your life change.

Or, you could continue to sit and wait.  It’s on you.
