The parents of NSR prospect Gabby Canibeyaz knew they wanted a reliable source in their corner during her recruiting process.

Making your athlete’s dreams a reality is within your grasp

A college scholarship offer can provide a family with as much as $200,000.00 in savings over four years.  Not everyone sees this type of money, but even the average NSR prospect enjoys upwards of $18,000.00 in their first year of college financial package.  Assuming that number, that’s a savings of $72,000.00 earned throughout a college athletic career.  You may pick up your jaw from the floor now.

That’s a chunk of change, but if nobody’s got your athlete’s back during the recruiting process, you could walk away with zilch, but it doesn’t have to end that way.  So, who does have your back?  Who’s your expert, the one person you can go to for advice that’s well-founded, based on up-to-date info and real world, current experience.  Who is truly tied into the recruiting process?  Who do you have in your corner that knows the ropes and can help you to be one of the lucky ones who moves forward to the next level of competition?

Make no mistake, choosing the right person is essential.  College recruiting is that competitive and its true for every sport.  Being able to rely on someone to reach the coaches, speak for you, have your back – that’s what can get you over the hump and help you to capture not only the attention of college coaches, but to secure you offers.

Parents, can you do it?  Do you know how?  Do you know what college coaches really need?  Is there time to do it right, to reach as many coaches as you genuinely need to reach to give your athlete a chance?  Setting aside your biases for a moment, will coaches take you seriously?

Do you really think that an “inside connection” with a college will make it happen?  Are there any coaches out there that will stop their recruiting process and insert your athlete because they were asked to by that inside connection who is really an outside, distant voice?  What’s the likelihood something of substance will happen?  Will that special someone’s pull actually push the coach farther away?

Can you expect your coach to set aside what he or she is doing every day to take on a promotional campaign for one of his or her athletes, your athlete, when so much more is at stake at school, their workplace or at home?  Will your athlete be given the attention he or she deserves with this half-hearted, substandard effort?  Even if your club has a “recruiting coordinator,” how does your athlete get the coverage and personal promo when there are so many others involved, too?

These are all things to seriously contemplate.  This recruiting opportunity only happens once for your child.  Either way it falls, it’s important to realize that it will change your child’s life.  If he or she misses out on the chance to play college athletics, it will be one of his or her life’s great regrets.  However, if you pick the right one to have your back, the one that will make things happen in a big way, then that life experience will turn into one of most significant things to ever happen to your athlete.

Choose wisely.
