"Sheila is very well connected in the volleyball community, not just locally, but nationally."

Colleen Sweeney (volleyball) | TBD

We truly have nothing but amazing things to say about Sheila and all the work that her and NSR have done so far. This is how it all started. She comes out and evaluates the athlete while they play and gives you honest opinion on where she feels your daughters level of play might be and what div she could play in college. After the evaluation and you decide to have her represent you she sits down and basically has trained colleen how to talk to college coaches, email them. They also send out mailings to colleges create profile, works on video to put on profile. Sheila is very well connected in the volleyball community, not just locally, but nationally. She has connected Colleen with some great programs. I am not sure if we would be getting the same looks without her helping and guiding us.

"Sheila was a true partner in this process. We can’t imagine going through the college recruiting process without her help!"

Madeleine Kennedy (dance) | Le Moyne College - D2

We can’t imagine going through the college recruiting process without the help of NSR, and especially, Sheila. When we met Sheila, we instantly knew she would help our daughter achieve her dream to play volleyball in college, in addition to find a good school to meet our daughter’s high academic aspirations.

Sheila was a true partner in this process; she laid out the plan of what was needed and outlined very clear expectations for both the athlete and parents. Sheila is a great communicator and when our athlete was not sure of tasks she needed to accomplish, if she had questions about conversations she was having with college coaches or things going on in our daughter’s volleyball life, Sheila was always there for our daughter, and for us parents as well. The contact between athlete and Sheila was ongoing and frequent. Sheila was great about holding our athlete accountable and making sure our daughter knew this was her journey and she needed to take charge. Truly valuable life lessons that our daughter learned while working with Sheila.

Our athlete was committed to the process, followed the path laid out by Sheila and our daughter will now live her ultimate dream to be a collegiate athlete at a great school.

We really connected with Sheila and words can’t express how much we appreciated all she did for our family. We have really enjoyed our time spent with Sheila on the phone, chatting at tournaments and helping us navigate this process. We are so glad we met her and please know how much we have valued your support over the past year. Sheila, you are awesome. Thank you for everything!!!

"Once we started working with Sheila, coaches started making contact with us almost immediately"

Piper Matsumoto (volleyball) | The University of Southern Mississippi

Prior to working with Sheila Thiery at NSR, we worked with a recruiter that wasn’t very knowledgeable about women’s volleyball and he lacked motivation. Once the Sheila transition occurred everything began to happen very rapidly and the coaches started making contact with us almost immediately. Sheila is extremely motivated, and has a great understanding of the importance on getting the right fit. The recruiting process is very stressful with so many unknowns and it was nice to have someone always in your corner to talk to. With her advice, positive energy and networking skills, it made that process enjoyable. I was able to commit to a DI school that offered everything I was looking for in a program. I couldn’t imagine going through this process without her.

"What I have learned over the course of the last 10 months with NSR…"

Christina Harrison (volleyball) | Cedarville University

Patience and realizing how the right fit is so important. Our daughter committed to a D2 university at the end of last club season (2017) thinking this was the right fit for her. After her official visit, she realized the fit was not for her. More importantly, the school lacked her true major. She was not following her heart and needed to figure this out for herself with a non-biased influence. She then decided to de-commit to that school and felt 100% right about it.

Sheila Thiery with NSR gave amazing advice and encouragement throughout the whole process. Sheila has been there to talk with us and our daughter many times offering non judgmental advice. We are truly grateful for the amazing doors NSR has opened up for our daughter.

God has led her back to her first choice! Cedarville University is not only the perfect fit for her, but will challenge and help her grow and stretch in many ways. She is now incredibly excited about attending such an amazing university and playing volleyball for an incredible coach and getting to know her teammates next fall.

"After we signed up, the flood gates opened!"

Alexys Mann (dance) | Western Carolina University

We met Sheila during Alexys's Sophomore year but didn't join the NSR family until her Junior year. We would always see Sheila around the courts but never really knew much about the organization until she stopped us and raved about Alexys' skills. I'll admit, we were apprehensive at first, hence the delay in signing up.

Before signing up there were coaches around the courts because they typically follow our Club and they had seen Alexys play. After we signed up, the flood gates opened! We started to receive emails and texts daily. It almost became a full-time job just to keep up on the correspondence.

After looking at multiple programs and visiting various schools, Alexys made a verbal commitment to University of Delaware. We were excited and comfortable with the decision based on everything we saw and heard. This is where the interesting part begins:

Delaware's head coach and assistant coach were relieved of their duties. Both coaches actively and aggressively recruited Alexys. Once we were informed, we tried to reach out to the coaches to find out what happened and the future of the program and how this would impact Alexys but nobody could talk to us. After awhile Alexys decided to open her recruiting back up. While it was disappointing, because we thought the whole recruiting process was behind us, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Schools that expressed interest before came back out, in addition to many others.

Sheila actively worked to get "the word on the street"!

As a result of the exposure and marketing tools that NSR offered, Alexys committed to Western Carolina University (D1) and is happy to be a future Catamount. The University is absolutely amazing, nestled in the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains. They offer a strong program in her area of study and the volleyball program is like a family, very competitive and a perfect fit!

We're excited about the future and thank Sheila and NSR for helping us navigate thru the crazy recruiting maze!

"NSR Has Some Great Connections to Some Great Universities"

Andra Malburg (beach volleyball) | Lawrence Tech University

National Scouting Report (NSR) has proven to be a great resource for us during the softball recruiting process. Our scout, Sheila Thiery and their video department developed a skills video that was significantly better than the skills video we paid to have made prior to becoming a NSR client. Sheila offered a wealth of information and answered every question that we had along the way. NSR has some great connections to some great Universities. We found NSR can help with the connections, but the contact, follow-up, follow-through, hard work and determination still resides on the prospective athlete. Which is the way it should be. We loved Sheila's professionalism, positive attitude, outgoing personality and recruiting knowledge. Plus we gained a great friend in the process.

"From Zero to Many, in a Matter of Weeks!"

Kelly Cameron (dance) | University at Albany - DI

My name is Kelly Cameron and I am a 12th grade setter/right side. I play club volleyball for Elevation Volleyball Club and I committed to the University at Albany to play volleyball with the help of my NSR Scout, Sheila Thiery.

The biggest challenge I was facing with recruiting prior to working with NSR was figuring out the best ways to connect with college coaches and get them interested in me.

In a matter of weeks, I had numerous college coaches showing interest in me.

One of the biggest eye openers about recruiting that I learned from NSR was that college coaches don't just come to you. You must work at getting them to contact you and sometimes it will be frustrating, but you must be patient.

What I liked best about working with Sheila and NSR was that Sheila always made herself available to me and encouraged me to call or text her whenever. But on the other hand she always made an effort to contact me and ask how everything was going.

If you're a student athlete serious about playing in college, I would highly recommend contacting Sheila Thiery at NSR Ohio, so she can help guide and your family through this process and open up opportunities for you, like she did for me!

"I Would Recommend NSR to Anyone!"

Teresa Urban (beach volleyball) | Thomas More College

Before engaging with NSR, we attended many camps and exposure tournaments and thought we knew a considerable amount about the recruiting process. I have no doubt that we have netted, by far, the most valuable and relevant connections through Sheila Thiery than we would have had on our own. Experiencing the NSR process gave my daughter the confidence she needed to talk to coaches and show her character as well as her athletic skill. The process helped her vet her options and make a decision that was the best academic and athletic fit for her. I would recommend NSR to anyone who wants to give their child the opportunity to see how far they can go!
