Then, they must score well. Annika Chickering does both.<\/p>\n<p>A senior at Del Norte (Calif.) High School, Annika has been a road warrior the past six\u00a0years competing and improving.\u00a0 The long list of competitive tournaments that the National Scouting Report prospect has entered clearly demonstrates her dedication and desire to advance to the college level.<\/p>\n<p>When her family lived on the East Coast, Annika played on junior tours such as the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT), the Hurricane Tour (HJGT), and the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour (PKBGT).\u00a0 When they moved to San Diego in the summer of 2010, she began playing competitively on junior tours such as the American Junior Golf Association Tour (AJGA), Toyota Tour Cup Series of the Southern California, the PGA Junior Tour (SCPGAJRTOUR), the San Diego Junior Golf Tour (SDJGA) and the Future Champions Golf Tour (FCG).<\/p>\n<p>All of that hard work and tour participation has been to achieve her goal of playing in college.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know that I need to get a college education to be able to have options for my career and I hope to be able to continue playing golf at a competitive program while doing so. She carries a 3.32 GPA.\" width=\"232\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nsr-inc.com\/scouting-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Annika-Chickering-5-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/www.nsr-inc.com\/scouting-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Annika-Chickering-5.jpg 338w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 232px) 100vw, 232px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8855\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Annika is equally impressive off the links, carrying a 3.32 GPA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Annika also carries a big stick in the classroom with a 3.0-plus GPA. \u00a0She believes that working on her grades, like her golf game, is essential.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My schoolwork is very important to me and I strive to get the best grades that I can,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Currently I have a 3.32 grade point average and this is a source of pride for me because I have worked very hard to keep up my grades.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although golf can be a mentally tough game, Annika thinks the team environment\u00a0fits her to a (pardon the pun) tee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being able to compete on my high school golf team the past three years has been an amazing experience,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Golf is an individual sport, but having teammates has brought out the best of my abilities.
