Coaches will be able to log in to the NSR web site (www.nsr-inc.com) to access prospect contact information immediately. In the past, contact information was only available to coaches through the prospects’ regional searches and personal brochures. If coaches weren’t on a prospect’s list, they had to request contact information through NSR’s corporate office in Alabaster, Ala.

“We’ve always wanted to protect the prospects’ information, so we forced college coaches to contact us first,” Rigney said. “Now, we can protect the prospects’ information without forcing the coaches to take that extra step.”

“We’re still going to be very protective of the prospects’ information. We will verify that the coaches work at a particular university before giving them access to our system.”

Because college coaches will be required to log in, NSR will be able to track their activity on the web site. Through their recruiting organizers, prospects will be able to track which coaches searched for them, who requested contact information, and who viewed their profiles and videos.

NSR will be making radical changes to the prospects’ personal brochures, replacing the old four-page version with a modern two-page version. Each brochure will contain a Quick Response (QR) Code. Coaches will be able to scan the QR code to watch a prospect’s video. If a coach is logged in, he will be able to print out the prospect’s brochure, complete with contact information. Prospects will be able to log in to their portals and print out unlimited brochures to take to tournaments, showcases and camps.

Prospects also will have an easier time uploading photos to their NSR web pages and updating their online profiles. The new system will include auto-resizing – the same feature used by such popular sites as Facebook – which automatically adjusts photo sizes and retains quality. In addition, when prospects update their profiles, the new system will allow NSR to move through the verification and security process more quickly.

“Every day matters in recruiting,” Rigney said. “We don’t want to delay the recruiting process.”

NSR prospects and scouts already have received emails informing them of the enhanced portal system. As soon as the system goes live, NSR will begin a marketing campaign to college coaches.

“We will be attending six or seven national coaching conventions in December and January,” Rigney said. “We will be unveiling the new system to coaches in person at the conventions.

“College coaches have been waiting for these changes. We get calls and emails daily from coaches wanting a way to log in, so they can access prospects’ contact information right away. We’ve given them that ability … and so much more.”

After one year of planning, preparation and programming, National Scouting Report is just weeks away from unveiling its enhanced, user-friendly, interactive portal system.
