Kori Benson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Following a stellar high school career at Oak Grove High School in Alabama, Kori Benson<\/strong> chose to attend Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL.\u00a0 She declined several offers from NCAA and NAIA schools because Kori wanted to show high level DI programs that she had what it takes to play with the best in the country.\u00a0 And, by all accounts, she made the right decision.<\/p>\n

Playing third base and catching for the 2013 Lions, Kori made an impact from the start both offensively and defensively.\u00a0 On her way to setting a WSCC single season home run record with 23 round-trippers, Kori was a major contributor in the team’s post season run to winning the NJCAA Division I national\u00a0crown held in St. George, UT, outlasting Salt Lake, 7-3, in the championship rubber game.\u00a0 In that game, Kori had two hits, one being a home run in the second inning, and a game-high four runs batted in.<\/p>\n

During\u00a0the previously unranked team’s incredible title chase,\u00a0Kori\u00a0was named\u00a0the ACC regional tournament\u00a0MVP, the\u00a0NJCAA\u00a0All-Tournament team\u00a0and\u00a0the national tournament’s\u00a0defensive MVP.\u00a0\u00a0The NFCA also\u00a0chose her to be a member of their highly\u00a0selective All-America\u00a0team.<\/p>\n

We are very proud to represent Kori to\u00a0college coaches across America and following what is\u00a0arguably the most impressive year of any Wallace State freshman ever, it’s likely that her dream of playing at the penultimate level of college softball will come true.<\/p>\n
