Our Female Athlete of the Day is a 5’2″ golfer from Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois.\u00a0 An accomplished links performer, Courtney Williams<\/a><\/strong> has piled up an impressive list of Medalist honors in tournaments across the Midwest.\u00a0 She carries a 3.7 GPA and wants to become a journalist.\u00a0 Her NSR scout is Midwest Golf Director, Tanya Olson, one of the top amateur golfers in the region, who says of Courtney, “A gracious athlete.\u00a0 Courtney Williams is any coaches dream!\u00a0 She is not only a competitive athlete, but a nice genuine person as well.\u00a0 Courtney gets the TEAM concept and embraces it; while she understands golf is an individual sport, she also works hard for her team and thinks of them before herself.\u00a0 A 4-year varsity athlete with a 3.7 GPA.\u00a0 Smooth and steady on the course. With a 5’2 frame she keeps it in the middle and works hard on her short game for continued improvement.\u00a0 A true delight to be around and will work hard for her team.”\u00a0\u00a0Addressing college coaches in her\u00a0personal essay, Courtney\u00a0says, “Golf has helped me develop a strong work ethic. I have worked to improve my game during the off season. I practice every day working on my swing, mental strength, and the consistency of my shots. This year, I have seen my hard work pay off as my scores have continued to improve. I am proud of my perseverance and have noticed my determination has improved my school work and my job. One of the most important traits I have learned from golf is a positive attitude and to believe in myself. Throughout my four years, I have gained confidence in myself both as a player and student.
