Amber Hopf<\/strong> <\/a>from Manteno High School in Manteno, Illinois, has been selected as our Female Athlete of the Day.\u00a0 Amber is also a star off the volleyball court, having earned a stellar 4.5 GPA.\u00a0 She intends to major in Education.\u00a0 Her NSR scout, Bill Dozier<\/strong>, says that, “Amber is 5’11 who plays the middle, right and has experience as a setter.\u00a0 She has played at the varsity level since her sophomore year.\u00a0 Last year she played on an elite travel club (Uno South).\u00a0 She has worked with her personal trainer the last few years on her lateral quickness and vertical leaping ability.\u00a0 She has progressed each year in her aggressiveness on the court.\u00a0 She is a quiet, confident leader and an excellent team player.\u00a0 She’s a hard working student-athlete both in the classroom and on the court.”\u00a0 In her essay to college coaches, Amber says, “I am a senior at Manteno High School where I have been on the high honor roll since my freshman year. I participate in Key Club and chorus in school. I play on the Manteno Panthers Volleyball Team as a middle\/right side hitter. This will be my third year on varsity. Some other things I like to do when I am not in school is read, shop, hangout with friends, listen to music, watch movies, swim, tubing, knee boarding, ride jet-skis, snowmobile and sledding. My family is always doing something be it traveling or just hanging out in the pool in the backyard.\u00a0 In college I plan on majoring in Education with a focus in Finance or English.
