High school prospects offered advice on how to approach improving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Practice is where real advancements happen<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6698\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6698\" style=\"width: 265px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nsr-inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Athlete-fist-pump.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6698\" title=\"Athlete - fist pump\" src=\"\/\/nsr-inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Athlete-fist-pump.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6698\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Being mentally prepared for practice will help you to take the strides necessary for improvement.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There is no more important time for a high school athlete wanting to be a college pr0spect\u00a0than when practicing.\u00a0 And how an athlete approaches practice is often the key to that athlete making critical gains in skill level and mental preparedness.\u00a0 Here are the\u00a0eight\u00a0keys to getting the most out of practice each and every time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mentality:\u00a0<\/strong> Set everything aside as you get dressed for practice.\u00a0 Start to focus on how well you will listen to the coach, how hard you will work and the goals you want to achieve that day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hydrate:<\/strong>\u00a0 Being well hydrated before for practice is essential.\u00a0 Drink plenty of liquids, preferably water, during the day so that your mind and body will avoid being victimized\u00a0by the demands placed on you at practice.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intensity:<\/strong>\u00a0 As practice gets closer, steadily get more engrossed in the moment until when you begin to warm up and practice starts that you are in &#8220;practice zone.&#8221;\u00a0 Realize that this is when you will take small as well as large leaps in getting better and that the\u00a0 only way to make huge strides is if you are locked in on the instruction you receive and the implementation of those directives from your coach.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work Ethic:\u00a0<\/strong> Practice comes and goes in bursts.\u00a0\u00a0Honing skills then\u00a0happens in small increments of time.\u00a0 Knowing this, it is essential that you flip the &#8220;on&#8221; switch every time it is your turn to execute a drill.\u00a0 Work as hard as possible.\u00a0\u00a0Hustle an d give each rep 100% of your effort.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fight Through Fatigue:\u00a0<\/strong> Physical fatigue impacts mental attitude.\u00a0 Be prepared to face this obstacle with mental toughness and fight your way through it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enthusiasm:<\/strong>\u00a0 Want to be there in the moment.\u00a0\u00a0Constantly remind yourself\u00a0what you are there for &#8211;
