Taylor Loomis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Our Female Athlete of the Day is Taylor Loomis<\/a><\/strong>, a senior field hockey player from Lee-Davis High School<\/strong> in Mechanicsville, Virginia.\u00a0 Carrying an impressive 3.89 GPA, Taylor has a long list of field hockey accomplishments including being selected as her team’s captain this season, having won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Cup<\/strong>, and being a bronze medal recipient at the most recent Disney Showcase<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 She plans to major in Criminal Justice.\u00a0 Her NSR<\/strong> scout, Wayne Castelow (Richmond)<\/strong> says, “Taylor is an aggressive player with a “big stick” and one of her teams scoring leaders. She hits with power and accuracy. Taylor has good dribbling skills and consistently moves past defenders in the forward position. She also plays defensive and mid field positions with her travel team, Undertow. Taylor has good knowledge of the game and anticipates well, as such, she positions herself well and is continuously moving. Taylor is a confident young woman on and off the field.”\u00a0\u00a0 Taylor tells college coaches, “In field hockey, no matter how great they are, no one person makes a team, and that\u2019s why I love hockey. I\u2019ve always been a team player. I think an assist is just as good as a goal, and I want my teammates to score just as bad as I want to. I also love the opportunity to play different positions in field hockey. I started on defense, played a few years at mid-field and am currently starting at right forward for my varsity high school team.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
