With coaches identifying their top prospects to recruit earlier and earlier, getting prospects on their campuses allows coaches to meet prospects and their families. NCAA regs allow that only on a coach’s campus is it permissible to make direct contact with underclassmen before direct off-campus contact can be legally made. That means coaches can begin building relationships with their recruits as early as they want to. High school freshmen and sophomores are fair game when they agree to step on a coach’s turf. Once there, coaches are free to speak about their programs, facilities, plans and even make offers face-to-face.

NSR scouts know this and often work with families to get them onto campuses for tours and meetings with administrators, academic department heads, athletic department officials and coaching staffs. More importantly for prospect families, these unofficial visits, paid for by the families, give NSR prospects evidence to examine as they mull over the advantages and disadvantages which different colleges may offer them as college freshmen. This exploratory process is essential to the final decision-making process and helps NSR scouts to better guide and advise their client-families in the various stages of the recruiting process.

NSR scouts and our home office staff of professionals work harder than any other scouting organization on the planet to ensure that our prospects are well educated and knowledgeable about how to successfully and adroitly travel their own recruiting journey. At NSR, our primary mission is to get prospects noticed by college coaches, but beyond that we are dedicated to each NSR prospect acquiring the very best scholarship opportunities available to them.

Do you have a personal recruiting guide?
