NSR offers five suggestions that really work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Preparing for the fall can be fun, if you take the right attitude<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6297\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6297\" style=\"width: 264px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nsr-inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Kids-smiling-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6297\" title=\"Kids smiling 4\" src=\"\/\/nsr-inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Kids-smiling-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6297\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Summertime is THE time to get some productive things accomplished.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Making plans for the summertime may seem a fun to-do list for high school athletes.\u00a0 With free time staring you in the face, what is an athlete to do?<\/p>\n<p>At NSR we are constantly aware of the necessity for preparation.\u00a0 And even though summers is a time for vacations, fun and rest, the dedicated student-athlete must keep an ever vigilant eye on the future.\u00a0 Staying in shape, communicating with college coaches, attending camps\u00a0and taking campus visits are all on our summer checklist for athletes.\u00a0 Here are those and few more which serious high school athletes should consider including in their summer plans:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Hit the Road.\u00a0<\/strong> Early mornings are ideal for getting exercise out of the way for the busy high school\u00a0athlete.\u00a0\u00a0Doing so takes discipline and dedication, but nothing\u00a0can replace staying in top condition through the lazy days of summer.\u00a0 Want to impress college coaches?\u00a0\u00a0Give them a record of the mornings that you were up and at it\u00a0over the summertime.\u00a0\u00a0Now, THAT will make coaches pay attention.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fire One Off.<\/strong>\u00a0 When coming in from your exercise, stop by your computer or sit down with your phone and fire off a quick\u00a0E-mail to a college coach.\u00a0 Tell him or her that you just finished a workout session and wanted to say hi.\u00a0 That&#8217;s all it takes to get a coach to\u00a0notice you.\u00a0 Do this every day.\u00a0 Pick\u00a0a handful of coaches and send them a quick message every week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Camp Time is Face Time.\u00a0<\/strong> If a college is recruiting you hard, don&#8217;t miss the opportunity to attend their camp this summer.\u00a0 Getting face time with a coaching staff and team members is extremely helpful to your understanding of a program and how it operates.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Step on the Grounds.<\/strong>\u00a0 Nothing, absolutely nothing, is more valuable to a high school student-athlete than actually stepping foot on the grounds of a college campus.\u00a0 Even if the campus is not one which you are interested in attending.\u00a0 You need the experience of seeing and feeling what different campuses are like to eventually make a decision about which type works for you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bury Your Head.<\/strong>\u00a0 Read something.\u00a0 Strange, right?\u00a0 But you will find that taking in a good book, or several of them, over the summer months will be prove to be about the most relaxing thing you can do.\u00a0 Go ahead, try it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preparing for the fall can be fun, if you take the right attitude Making plans for the summertime may seem a fun to-do list for high school athletes.\u00a0 With free time staring you in the face, what is an athlete to do?
