Kristi excels in bowling, weightlifting and softball \u2013 and has been selected team captain for all three.\u00a0 She is an honorable mention selection on the All-Area weightlifting and softball teams and has been selected MVP on her bowling and weightlifting teams.\u00a0 Kristi has a 3.9 GPA and is in the top 15 percent of her class. She received a softball scholarship to <a href=\"www.daytonastate.edu\/\">Daytona State<\/a> and plans to study business management or sports medicine.\u00a0 She was accompanied to the ceremony by her parents Alicia Wendland, Fred Baker and coach Tarisa Grimm who spoke of Kristi\u2019s many accomplishments.\u00a0 Lion Greg Windquist presented the Student-Athlete Plaque to Kristi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ormond Beach Lions Club in Ormond Beach, Florida, honored National Scouting Report softball prospect, Kristi Wendland, as the Seabreeze High\u00a0School Student-Athlete of the Month.
