Lexi Dempsey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

NSR<\/strong> volleyball prospect, Lexi Dempsey<\/a><\/strong>, who has committed to play volleyball for the University of Portland<\/a>, and has been selected as our featured Female Athlete.\u00a0 The 5’10” setter from Palm Springs High School<\/a> in Palm Springs, California, carries a 4.3 GPA and is ranked 27th in her class of 610 seniors.\u00a0 She plans to become an attorney.\u00a0 In her essay to college coaches, Lexi says, “My desire and passion to do well on the court have also helped me in the classroom.\u00a0\u00a0 My primary goal is to succeed in life and I realize that my education will help me do this. I take pride in my academic accomplishments and only wish to go further with them. I love challenges, academically and athletically. I am excited about finishing out my junior year and look forward to my next season.”\u00a0 Her NSR scout is Cliff Weeks, Riverside AD<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 In his scouting report on Lexi, Cliff says, “Alexis (Lexi) has good volleyball sense and court savvy. She has fundamental skills and soft hands. Her feet are quick and has good footwork which is her strong point.\u00a0 And she can get up. Excellent server (#1 in ACES in CIF SS Div 3AA), jumping serve skills as well as zone serving. Good aggressiveness on the court. She understands her responsibility as the Setter is that she is the “quarterback\u201d of the Team. Her coach says she is one to watch and can’t count the number of games she has single handedly won in the crunch.
