No Question, Real Scouting Trumps Telemarketing Approach<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve said it before, but it always bears repeating:\u00a0 a scouting organization should have actual scouts on the ground evaluating talent.\u00a0\u00a0NSR is proud\u00a0to have pioneered the high school scouting\u00a0business 31 years ago in 1980.\u00a0 Since then, NSR has never wavered from its focus on the basics —\u00a0find and attend\u00a0local and regional\u00a0high school-level sports events, evaluate talent firsthand, interview prospects in person and only offer our guidance to those deserving to move\u00a0on to the college\u00a0athletic ranks.\u00a0\u00a0It is more than a business model.\u00a0 It is the correct and very best way to recognize legitimate college prospects and promote them to college coaches.\u00a0 Any college coach will confirm this.<\/p>\n

NSR has remained steadfast to this formula and as a result has created a culture which revolves around the prospects, not around quotas.\u00a0 Our scouts manage their own territories.\u00a0 They live there.\u00a0 They drive to the schools and complexes.\u00a0 Then, they do something which is rare — they actually scout the prospects.\u00a0\u00a0If you are approached by an NSR scout, it will be\u00a0after having been personally\u00a0evaluated by that scout.\u00a0 Chances are that if you are\u00a0contacted by any other scouting\u00a0service in the U.S. that they have not seen you perform, but instead\u00a0have gotten your name from a\u00a0tournament roster book or online team Web site.\u00a0\u00a0We call them “cubicle\u00a0counselors.”\u00a0 They are former college athletes or coaches who have been\u00a0assigned a desk, a phone and a list of names with\u00a0phone numbers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unreal scout or "cubicle counselor."<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Each “counselor” has a quota to make each day or week.\u00a0\u00a0(NSR scouts have no mandated weekly or monthly quotas.)\u00a0 Their goal is not really to help you reach your goal of\u00a0securing a scholarship offer, but\u00a0to chalk up another sale.\u00a0 They cannot advance in the company until they meet certain quotas.\u00a0 They will never come to\u00a0see you play.\u00a0\u00a0 They will never come to your home.\u00a0\u00a0They will, however, take your money without reservation.\u00a0 You do not have to meet any standards except that your check will not bounce\u00a0or your credit card will\u00a0clear.\u00a0\u00a0It’s that simple.\u00a0 And what do you get?\u00a0 A Web site and few promotional mailings.\u00a0 You do not get\u00a0NSR’s proven,\u00a0comprehensive, promotional program which continually puts your profile in the hands of college coaches and you certainly do not get a scout who knows you well and\u00a0can talk\u00a0to\u00a0college coaches about you as an athlete, scholar and person.\u00a0<\/p>\n
