Reaching the Mountaintop Is a Lifetime Endeavor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Greatness is within each of us. But achieving it is a battle we choose to wage or ignore. It comes with tremendous sacrifice as we fight off outside influences which continually want to drag us back toward mediocrity. Prejudices, laziness, lack of focus and will, family history and peer pressure can waylay our ability to move ever closer to greatness. One extraordinary play or performance does not greatness make. Instead, it is reached through a body of work over time in which a reputation for consistency is attained in significant areas of one’s endeavors whether in work, athletics, faith or personal character.<\/p><\/div>\n

To earn greatness, a person must have a rare form of dedication constantly honed, evaluated and repositioned. Mistakes will happen, but the greatest of us admit our miscues and then hold them aside as intimate lessons, vowing to learn and grow from them. Greatness requires always moving forward, advancing in every direction imaginable, accepting innovation as a prerequisite to taking the next step ahead.<\/p>\n

Here, then, are the traits which readily identify the truly great:<\/p>\n
