Facebook brings college coaches up close and personal to prospects.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The popularity of Facebook and its impact on American culture continues to grow in unique ways.\u00a0 College coaches are now using the world’s social media leader as a way to find out more about prospects.<\/p>\n

With the growing trend of young people communicating more through Facebook than email, coaches have begun to observe and “friend” their recruits.\u00a0 Through Facebook coaches are learning more about prospects than they ever possibly could through camps, combines, tournaments, games, matches and meets.\u00a0 Facebook offers an inside view of potential signees’ lives, who their friends are, how they communicate and what they are doing outside their sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n

College athletic prospects should keep this in mind as they send messages which could well land on the computer screens of coaches they want to impress.\u00a0 A prospect’s posted pictures are perused carefully, too, giving coaches\u00a0even more insight into\u00a0the way\u00a0prospects might behave when on campus and part of a college team.\u00a0 It all\u00a0mounts up, this information, and it’s there for every coach to view and make\u00a0judgments about, fair or not.<\/p>\n

As a college\u00a0prospect, pay attention to what is on your wall.\u00a0 If there is\u00a0something which could make a college coach mark you off his or her “white board,” get it off your page at once.\u00a0 Someone is always\u00a0watching and it could be the very\u00a0coach\u00a0that controls your athletic\u00a0future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
