At National Scouting Report<\/strong>, we\u00a0love to debunk myths pertaining to high school scouting and college recruiting, and believe us, there are a bunch of them.\u00a0 Proving that naysayers, pseudo scouts, and wannabe talking heads wrong, especially when their\u00a0advice is\u00a0intended to discredit our industry,\u00a0 or more specifically our company, are full of hot air is one of the many rewarding outcomes\u00a0 in our role as legitimate, professional high school scouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As we sit on the sidelines listening to “experts” go on ad nausea about scouting and recruiting, decorum requires us to turn the other cheek, or ear as it were.\u00a0 The people who claim to have a clue about recruiting, but who really don’t, are the very people who create much of the havoc\u00a0and\u00a0heartache experienced by high school prospects and their families.\u00a0 Yet, when the prospect\u00a0which had followed the expert’s advice ends up with no scholarship offers, the pot stirrers are nowhere to be\u00a0seen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s a\u00a0pitiful story which repeats itself year after year in\u00a0communities large and small.\u00a0 There apparently\u00a0is no end to the long line of so-called pundits willing to spout off\u00a0their erroneous opinions just so they can:\u00a0 A)\u00a0Sound impressive and boost their own egos and faulty status,\u00a0and\/or B) Feel as though they are controlling a family’s decisions and steering an athlete’s destiny.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rely on advice from professionals who are involved in recruiting day in and day out.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Know this, please:\u00a0 It is all we can do not to jump and down on the hood of the nearest car and yell out, “Do not listen to the rubbish.\u00a0\u00a0What they are saying\u00a0is not <\/em>the way recruiting works!”\u00a0 But, professionalism requires that we maintain our self control and permit people to make decisions for themselves, squirming in our seats\u00a0as another family gets hoodwinked into thinking they don’t need help their athlete get recognized, evaluated and recruited.<\/p>\n

See, there are\u00a0people whose mission is to\u00a0intentionally keep parents and high school athletes in the Dark Ages about the recruiting process.\u00a0 It’s their way of maintaining some sort of twisted control over the actions of their friends, relatives or local athletes.\u00a0 It’s such a sad, sad thing to see —\u00a0young athletes and their parents\u00a0held back in their attempt to secure a college scholarship because\u00a0somebody has the need to appear to be an authority figure\u00a0when in reality they are\u00a0taking the family down a dead end road.\u00a0 These people\u00a0are, to be blunt, ignorant about the NCAA, it’s rules and\u00a0how a family can best navigate through the restrictions\u00a0as well as openings to emerge with genuine options to\u00a0consider.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

All that said, the claim we want to debunk?\u00a0 NSR’s reach does not extend deep into NCAA Division I athletic programs.\u00a0 This myth is wrong, by a half court\u00a0hook shot that hits nothing but net.\u00a0 Here’s the in-your-face proof.<\/p>\n

You can depend on NSR to provide you with reliable, useful recruiting information.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last week our scout in Puerto Rico informed us about a boys and girls high school volleyball tournament\u00a0taking place there.\u00a0 As is our normal policy, we distributed an announcement to every college coach in America detailing the event.\u00a0 Within 48 hours, we had received notes from over 100 coaches, nearly half from NCAA DI coaches, communicating their recruiting needs, requesting additional details, or thanking us for passing along info on the tournament.\u00a0 Some of the top volleyball programs in the nation responded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To the pessimists, National Scouting Report<\/strong> is the premier high school scouting and college recruiting organization in the world.\u00a0 We have been helping high school athletes to secure college scholarship offers since 1980, or 31 years.\u00a0 Thousands upon thousands of young athletes have participated in college athletics because of our specialized assistance.\u00a0 We produce excellent results because we are the industry leaders and do not compromise on the quality of athletes we enroll or the intensity with which we promote them to college coaches.\u00a0 Our standards are second to none in the scouting and recruiting industry and we are extremely pround of the work we do and the prospects we represent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
