Today, you simply have to do more to get noticed and recruited. It's not 1985.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We see thousands upon thousands of high school prospects each year whose stated dream is to play college athletics.\u00a0\u00a0 They’ve thought about it\u00a0for years.\u00a0 Talked about it with family and friends.\u00a0 Yet, so many of these talented, young athletes never get beyond wishing and hoping.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0\u00a0They and their parents have not a\u00a0clue how to make it happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Being an adult may make your parents\u00a0smarter and wiser, but it doesn’t\u00a0make them experts about college recruiting.\u00a0 So,\u00a0you might ask, who are the real experts?\u00a0 College coaches and\u00a0scouts who work with college coaches every day, not those\u00a0pseudo-scouts who sit in\u00a0an\u00a0high-rise downtown office and call you from a\u00a0tournament roster list.\u00a0 That’s not scouting.\u00a0 That’s telemarketing.\u00a0 A scout is somebody who is on the ground scouting every day watching\u00a0and evaluating prospects because it’s\u00a0the first, vital step in their job.\u00a0 See the athlete.\u00a0 Meet the athlete.\u00a0 Assess the athlete.\u00a0 That’s what a\u00a0college scout does.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Doing the same thing everyone else does will not give you exceptional results. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

What you’ve been told by the people around you might make perfect sense and to a certain extent, what they say is valid.\u00a0 Work hard in practice.\u00a0 Check.\u00a0 Go to summer camps at colleges.\u00a0 Check.\u00a0 Play club, travel or AAU sports.\u00a0 Done.\u00a0 You’re ready and yet…nothing?\u00a0 No calls, questionnaires, detectable interest or even sniffs from college coaches?\u00a0 So, what’s the dang deal here?\u00a0 Isn’t that what you were told to do and you’re dreams would come true?\u00a0 Then you ask, How could my coaches and friends of my parents who went through this 20 years ago be wrong?\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/a>Well, it ain’t you, child.\u00a0 It’s the way\u00a0most people still think about recruiting.\u00a0 You\u00a0know, like 1985 was yesterday.\u00a0 \u00a0 If that’s the case, then why not use 1985 equipment, 1985 uniforms.\u00a0 Oh, and drive a 1985 car while you’re at it.\u00a0 It’s a by-gone time and they are stuck in it.\u00a0 Don’t let that happen to you.\u00a0 Fight for your time.\u00a0 Fight for your future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A\u00a0lot of people think recruiting is still the way it was in 1985, but\u00a0they are wrong.\u00a0\u00a0Worse, you’re the one who has to\u00a0pay the price in the end.\u00a0 The only way to avoid it\u00a0happening is to\u00a0buck the trend and do something different.\u00a0 Something bold.\u00a0\u00a0Something which makes complete common sense when you think about it.\u00a0\u00a0 Think about these facts:<\/p>\n

Educate your parents on how modern-day recruiting really works and how to get ahead.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Fact:\u00a0 Only about one in 25 high school senior athletes in America go on to play college athletics.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fact:\u00a0 Twenty-four out of 25 high school seniors will never have the chance to play college sports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fact:\u00a0 This is a tech\u00a0savvy\u00a0era in recruiting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fact:\u00a0 If you work hard, play on a\u00a0travel team and then wait to see what happens, you have a 10% chance of being recruited.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fact:\u00a0 If you qualify, are accepted and then promoted to college coaches by National Scouting Report, you have more than a 90% chance of receivoing a\u00a0scholarship\u00a0offer in NCAA Division I or II, the NAIA,\u00a0the NJCAA or a roster\u00a0offer in NCAA DIII.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
