It&#8217;s especially noticable to college coaches if an athlete is padding their stats or abilities.<\/p>\n<h2>Don&#8217;t Lie About Your Statistics<\/h2>\n<p>Want to do yourself, and\u00a0college coaches a huge favor?\u00a0 Don&#8217;t fudge on your stats.\u00a0 Regardless of how good or bad they may be. Coaches want to evaluate you based on what you have done, not on what you wish you had done.<\/p>\n<p>College coaches don&#8217;t recruit athletes based solely on their stats, they go and watch them perform as well. So if your stats don&#8217;t match your performance then it will be obvious you lied.<\/p>\n<p>If you are good enough to play at the college level,\u00a0coaches will determine that by evaluating you based on some\u00a0benchmarks.\u00a0 Size, speed, strength, athleticism, attitude, grades, and\u00a0statistical numbers are all significant.\u00a0 Every coach\u00a0gives\u00a0more weight to one skill than another\u00a0according to their vision for the team\u00a0and the school&#8217;s entrance requirements.<\/p>\n<p>To that, some coaches\u00a0put more credence in solid numbers than others who may need to fill their roster\u00a0with excellent students\u00a0due to high admission standards.<\/p>\n<h2>Stats Matter but They&#8217;re not Everything<\/h2>\n<p>In any case, accurate, athletic numbers (statistics) are an integral part of the recruiting process.\u00a0 We see excellent athletes with low numbers get recruited every day.
