the coach told Mark.\u00a0 With that, Mark got on the phone and called <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/64.79.224.60\/pa\/nepa\/\">NSR&#8217;s Ed McGrady<\/a><\/strong> and asked him to enroll Alexa with <strong>NSR<\/strong> as <a href=\"http:\/\/app.nsr-inc.com\/prospectResume\/pProspectResume.aspx?id=105712\">a softball prospect<\/a> ASAP.\u00a0 See, Alexa was already a member of NSR&#8217;s 2011 basketball class, but to maximize\u00a0her chances of getting\u00a0scholarship offers, Mark and\u00a0his wife Elizabeth, did not hesitate to\u00a0get her aboard NSR&#8217;s promotional\u00a0program in a second sport.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Three\u00a0years later and the best of all possible scenarios is happening for Alexa and her family.\u00a0 To date, she has received 17 pages of emails from college basketball coaches and another 15 full pages of emails from softball coaches.\u00a0 Oh, did we fail to mention that Alexa is a junior?\u00a0 Think it&#8217;s paid off?\u00a0 Well, with solid offers already in both sports,\u00a0Alexa has what every senior athlete in America would love to have &#8212; multiple choices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alexa-Gerchman-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2637\" title=\"Alexa Gerchman 4\" src=\"\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alexa-Gerchman-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s a dream come true initiated by parents who saw the potential in their daughter and sought out a scouting service with the best placement record in the scouting industry, National Scouting Report.\u00a0 For Mark, a high school principal, an online search led him to eventually call NSR after evaluating all the reputable services.\u00a0 The things NSR offered were the things the Gerchman family needed &#8212; personal scout who lived in the area, proven record of getting results for other kids, experience in working with college coaches at all levels of college athletics.\u00a0 And, once NSR&#8217;s promotional machine went to work\u00a0marketing Alexa,\u00a0college\u00a0coaches across America began to\u00a0see\u00a0her as an excellent prospect.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alexa was facing what so many prep prospects encounter &#8212; an excellent resume\u00a0which no one really knew about.\u00a0 In today&#8217;s fast-paced communication environment, there are plenty of online options for high school athletes, but what\u00a0parents and prospects often\u00a0fail to realize is that college coaches do not have time to surf the Web to identify recruits.\u00a0 Yes, they want the ease of recognizing top talent online, but their time is valuable.\u00a0\u00a0Coaches cannot afford to waste time on sites where just anyone can post their info.\u00a0\u00a0Those are unreliable sites because the prospects are not screened.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alexa-Gerchman-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2640\" title=\"Alexa Gerchman 5\" src=\"\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alexa-Gerchman-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a>Alexa, on the other hand, was scouted in person by NSR&#8217;s Northeast Pennsylvania Area Director, Ed McGrady.\u00a0\u00a0As her personal recruiting coordinator, Ed knows first hand about her athletic strengths and weaknesses.\u00a0 When a college coach calls Ed about Alexa, she will get the very best representation.\u00a0\u00a0Look at the scouting reports he wrote about Alexa in both sports.\u00a0 They reflect that knowledge and familiarity.\u00a0 Had Mark and Elizabeth enrolled Alexa with any other scouting service, college coaches would have been routed to a person in the home office whose only knowledge about Alexa would have been from a teleph0ne conversation, not from personal observations.\u00a0 College coaches appreciate that kind of professional assistance NSR provides.\u00a0 Ed can, and does, speak to Alexa&#8217;s tremendous athleticism, academic record and outstanding character.\u00a0 She has\u00a0a professional scout\u00a0who has her back.\u00a0 Moreover, when she and her family have questions, they can call Ed for help at anytime.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In all, Alexa has received more than 70 questionnaires from college coaches.\u00a0 Of course, it helps that she is an honor student,\u00a0is ranked in the top 10% of her class and has earned excellent\u00a0standardized test scores.\u00a0\u00a0One Ivy League school has been contacting her continuously in hopes of landing her as a basketball recruit, and she already\u00a0has offers on the table in softball.\u00a0 Because of all the attention, Ed recently asked Mark and Elizabeth if they\u00a0wanted\u00a0NSR to take Alexa off the available listing.\u00a0 They laughed and said no, indicating that they are loving the\u00a0excitement and process.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two-sport athletes like Alexa are often torn between deciding which sport they want to pursue in college.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a dilemma we often confront at NSR as on-the-ground,\u00a0field scouts.\u00a0 Our best advice is to enroll in both.\u00a0 Let the coaches\u00a0convince you which sport you should play in college.\u00a0 Through their questionnaires and recruiting letters, and later phone calls and campus\u00a0visits,\u00a0you will learn which\u00a0college sport\u00a0will\u00a0work best for you.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As for Alexa, her senior basketball campaign couldn&#8217;t go much better.\u00a0 Her high school&#8217;s basketball team is on a 66-game winning streak and with Alexa at point guard, the season is looking promising, not to mention her future as a college student-athlete.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parents Enrolled Daughter Early in\u00a0Both for Maximum Affect Alexa Gerchman had just completed her\u00a0freshman year at Dunmore High in Pennsylvania and was playing in a summer, travel softball tournament when an opposing coach approached Alexa&#8217;s dad, Mark.\u00a0 &#8220;Your daughter is the best shortstop here,&#8221;
