shooting guard from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdschool.org\/\">Carolina Day School<\/a> in Asheville, NC, proved that as fact last summer when, following a knee injury suffered during an AAU tournament, she went after\u00a0rehab like a young woman possessed.\u00a0\u00a0Surprising everyone, including her\u00a0rehab instructors, Allison improved faster well beyond expectations and was cleared medically\u00a0to\u00a0participate in fall practice a week prior to\u00a0its official start\u00a0date.\u00a0 &#8220;She worked awfully\u00a0hard,&#8221; said proud father Mitch Beasley.\u00a0 &#8220;I don&#8217;t know how she did it, but it&#8217;s hard to believe that\u00a0anybody could have worked harder than she did to\u00a0come back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Already recognized after two years of varsity experience as one of\u00a0the best outside shooters in Western North Carolina, Allison has\u00a0built an impressive\u00a0resume\u00a0including being accepted to the prestigious Blue Star All-American Camp and having reached the NCHSAA 1A\u00a0state quarter finals as a freshman two-guard with Robbinsville High\u00a0two years ago.\u00a0\u00a0That season she set several school records including most three-point\u00a0shots\u00a0made with 56 and\u00a03-point percentage of 45.\u00a0 An honor student at Robbinsville, the opportunity\u00a0presented itself early the following summer for Allison to transfer to Carolina Day in Asheville, a hour&#8217;s\u00a0drive\u00a0from her hometown.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s always wanted to be pushed whether\u00a0in sports or academics,&#8221; said\u00a0Mitch.\u00a0 &#8220;When this option became available to her, Allison jumped at the chance, even if it meant staying at the home of friends an hour from home and only seeing\u00a0my wife,\u00a0our other daughter and me on weekends.\u00a0 It was\u00a0difficult\u00a0at first, but she\u00a0grew up a lot\u00a0last year dealing with\u00a0most of the issues\u00a0kids three years older\u00a0are faced with when they are freshmen in college.\u00a0 We&#8217;re\u00a0very\u00a0proud of how she&#8217;s handled it all.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Once\u00a0at Carolina Day, Allison adjusted quickly\u00a0and jumped\u00a0head first into school and sports.\u00a0\u00a0 One critical decision the family made together was when Allison and her parents decided that for her to get the most from the\u00a0school academically that she should re-classify as a freshman.\u00a0 &#8220;Carolina Day is tough academically,&#8221; said Allison&#8217;s mother, Crystal.\u00a0 &#8220;We were afraid that if she enrolled as a sophomore that she would fall too far behind academically and put undue pressure on her.\u00a0 If she was going to do this, we wanted to take some of the pressure off.&#8221;\u00a0 The move\u00a0also gives Allison an added year of high school eligibility in the\u00a0region&#8217;s private school league.\u00a0\u00a0An avid\u00a0volleyball player as well, Allison\u00a0garnered post\u00a0season All-Conference honors\u00a0as an outside hitter.\u00a0 In basketball, she was reunited with her AAU coach, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdschool.org\/page.cfm?p=414&amp;teamID=18&amp;display=Coaches\">Joe Carrington<\/a>, one of the top women&#8217;s AAU basketball coaches in\u00a0North Carolina.\u00a0 The move paid off, too, as the team went 25-1 only to be knocked out of the state\u00a0private school tournament in the semi-finals by\u00a0the eventual state champion.\u00a0 In the post season, Allison was chosen All-Conference after averaging 14.8 points and nearly five rebounds per game on a very talented CDS\u00a0squad.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In AAU play, her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ladyroyals.org\/\">Lady Royals<\/a> teams have won three consecutive\u00a0North Carolina state titles in her age group.\u00a0 But,\u00a0the injury she suffered put a crimp in Allison&#8217;s style, for about a minute.\u00a0 Once the shock of\u00a0going down wore off, Allison\u00a0threw herself full bore into rehab.\u00a0 Described by her rehab doctors as the hardest working kid they had ever seen, Allison blew\u00a0past any early expectations of a long-term\u00a0recovery period by completing her\u00a0required workouts two months earlier than predicted.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to early December and Allison is once again back to doing what she loves, playing basketball and competing.\u00a0 All the hard work has paid off.\u00a0\u00a0During\u00a0an early season match-up with\u00a0nearby rival Veritas\u00a0Christian Academy, she\u00a0did something few shooting guards dream about, much less accomplish, by draining her 100th career three-point field goal.\u00a0 Knowing Allison Beasley, there&#8217;s a lot more of that to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Range Shooter Hits 100th Trey Allison Beasley is a lot tougher than she looks.\u00a0 The 5&#8217;10&#8221;
