{"id":1488,"date":"2010-10-01T10:56:34","date_gmt":"2010-10-01T16:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/\/?p=1488"},"modified":"2010-10-01T10:56:34","modified_gmt":"2010-10-01T16:56:34","slug":"cody-kirby-leading-missouri-state-bears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsr-inc.com\/scouting-news\/cody-kirby-leading-missouri-state-bears\/","title":{"rendered":"Cody Kirby Leading Missouri State Bears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bears QB Named MVFC Player of the Week\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cody-Kirby-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1500\" title=\"Cody Kirby 4\" src=\"\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cody-Kirby-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"209\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>Former <strong>NSR<\/strong> prospect, <strong>Cody Kirby<\/strong>, is following up where he left off last season as the starting quarterback for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.missouristatebears.com\/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13800&amp;SPID=6495\">Missouri State Bears<\/a> football team.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/gatewayfootball.xosn.com\/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7600&amp;KEY=&amp;SPID=2899\"><strong>Missouri Valley Football Conference<\/strong><\/a> announced its weekly awards on Sunday (Sept. 12), and Cody, from Rogers, Arkansas, was named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.missouristatebears.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=59342&amp;SPID=6495&amp;DB_OEM_ID=13800&amp;ATCLID=204992772\"><strong>Offensive Player of the Week<\/strong><\/a> for his performance in the Bears&#8217; game at<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.big12sports.com\/\"><strong>Big 12<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>power<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/Alan\/Documents\/kstatefootball.com\/\"><strong>Kansas State<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">In his 32nd consecutive star, Cody collected a career-high 333 yards of total offense in helping the Bears accumulate their highest point total against an FBS program since 2002.\u00a0 A senior co-captain, Cody threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions against the FBS Wildcats, while rushing for a team-high 52 yards on 10 carries. It was his highest rushing output in 7 games and the third-highest passing total of his career.<\/div>\n<p>In the 48-24 loss, he engineered scoring drives of 80, 58, 74, and 99 yards.
