NAIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To Be Eligible to Play,\u00a0You\u00a0Must Register<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_1463\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1463\" style=\"width: 129px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ashleighminter2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1463\" title=\"ashleighminter2\" src=\"\/\/blog.nsr-inc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ashleighminter2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1463\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">To play NCAA DI, DII or NAIA sports, you must register with their eligibility centers. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There&#8217;s no way around it, if you want to play sports in an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncaa.org\">NCAA<\/a> Division I or II\u00a0or <a href=\"www.naia.org\">NAIA<\/a> institution, you are now required to register with their respective clearinghouses, or eligibility centers.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As college athletics continue to come under increased scrutiny, academics have taken on a more integral role.\u00a0 Today, more than ever before in the history of college sports, an individual&#8217;s academic performance is viewed as the key linchpin between high school and junior college athletes and\u00a0 their dreams of playing\u00a0at the next level.\u00a0 A sad history of recruits and coaches attempting to circumnavigate entrance requirements by improperly or erroneously reporting athletes&#8217; academic records led to the establishment of the initial clearinghouse by the NCAA.\u00a0 This year, the NAIA follows suit with their own eligibilty center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Once more commonly known as the Clearinghouse, the Eligibility Center has been a standard practice with the NCAA for a\u00a0number of years with modifications occuring along the way.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s purpose is to verify the academic qualifications of student-athletes\u00a0wanting to play sports in Division I\u00a0or II for the first time and to make certain that\u00a0minimum requirements have been met or exceeded.\u00a0\u00a0Those academic standards have steadily become more demanding, putting\u00a0responsibility\u00a0squarely on the student-athletes to engage in and pass a list of core courses which will enable them to be on sound academic footing for college.\u00a0 To learn more about\u00a0the NCAA\u00a0Eligibilty Center, go\u00a0to <a href=\"http:\/\/eligibilitycenter.org\/ECWR2\/NCAA_EMS\/NCAA.html\">http:\/\/eligibilitycenter.org\/ECWR2\/NCAA_EMS\/NCAA.html<\/a>.\u00a0 Here you will\u00a0discover\u00a0the answsers to a variety of pertinent questions as well as easy access to registration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The NAIA&#8217;s eligibility center starts this academic year.\u00a0 As with the NCAA, any high school\u00a0prospect or college transfer who wishes to participate in NAIA sports for the first time must be\u00a0academically cleared by the NAIA&#8217;s eligibilty center.\u00a0 The\u00a0NAIA academic standards are not as strict as those of the NCAA, but they are similar and parents, athletes and coaches should\u00a0not assume that just anyone will be cleared.\u00a0 To learn more about the NAIA Eligibility Center, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playnaia.org\">www.playnaia.org<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>NSR<\/strong>, we fully support the <strong>NCAA<\/strong> and the <strong>NAIA<\/strong>\u00a0 in their efforts to better prepare athletes for the academic rigors of college.\u00a0 By setting tough but fair academic benchmarks, student-athetes will be in better positions to take on the responsibilities of life after college without sports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To Be Eligible to Play,\u00a0You\u00a0Must Register There&#8217;s no way around it, if you want to play sports in an NCAA Division I or II\u00a0or NAIA institution, you are now required to register with their respective clearinghouses, or eligibility centers.\u00a0 \u00a0 As college athletics continue to come under increased scrutiny, academics have taken on a more &#8230;
