This partnership will promote the growth of fastpitch softball throughout the state of Texas and its surroundings.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for NSR to partner with these ladies, who have so much experience with softball in playing and coaching,\u201d said Rusty Rigney, NSR CEO. \u201cThey have so much to share with younger athletes. Aligning ourselves with organizations who share the same mission, of helping young athletes achieve their dream of playing in college, is great for the future of fastpitch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This new partnership means big things for the state of Texas and the sport of softball. The Scrap Yard Dawgs will be joining NSR on the recruiting trail this season. Helping softball players play in college. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This partnership is something NSR softball has been working towards for years and searching for the right, honorable people involved, to make it happen,&#8221; says Robby Wilson, NSR&#8217;s National\u00a0Director of Softball Scouting. &#8220;The Scrap Yard sports facilities and staff are second to none; The GM&#8217;s and management staff of the Scrap Yard Dawgs are visionaries with their heart fully committed to advancing the game of softball. As someone who is involved with softball and softball recruiting all day, every day, I&#8217;ve witnessed the growth, direction, and drive from the Scrap Yard in recent years and could tell they were moving in the right direction not only in facilities but in growing the game of softball at every, single level.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I knew this was the group and parties we wanted to move forward with in our plans. Scott has been one of the most respected, upstanding, &#8220;true to your word&#8221; guys in the game of softball over the years. And has continuously pushed forward with increasing momentum but without wavering on the importance of quality of every aspect. Scott has been such a great friend and one of the biggest visionaries in the game; I knew he would be someone who shared and grew our ideals and plans together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NSR is employing NPF players from the Scrap Yard Dawgs to assist student-athletes with their recruiting. Since NPF players played in college, they can evaluate athletes who have the skills and abilities to play in college.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connie May, the General Manger of the Scrap Yard Dawgs, is looking forward to the relationship with NSR. And what it means for female athletes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt has been a goal to be able to give women the opportunity to continue to play the game they love and make a living through that game,\u201d May said. \u201cThe partnership with NSR will be a great first step to achieving that goal.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scott Smith, Texas Bombers National Program Director, Scrap Yard Sports Athletic Director, and the 2016 NFCA coach of the year echoed May\u2019s thoughts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNSR\u2019s long tradition of helping student-athletes is something that really stuck out to me,\u201d Smith said. \u201cIt was evident after speaking with Robby Wilson, with NSR, that his passion for helping student-athletes was genuine and something we absolutely had to be a part of.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The partnership will begin April 1, 2017, and will go through the NPF season and into the players\u2019 offseason.
