{"id":13711,"date":"2017-03-03T12:34:41","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T18:34:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nsr-inc.com\/scouting-news\/?p=13711"},"modified":"2017-04-11T14:52:20","modified_gmt":"2017-04-11T19:52:20","slug":"insider-buzz-nsr-scout-heading-to-the-pros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsr-inc.com\/scouting-news\/insider-buzz-nsr-scout-heading-to-the-pros\/","title":{"rendered":"Insider Buzz: NSR Scout Heading to the Pros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NSR football scout, Chase Cartwright, is heading to Baltimore, Maryland to be a quarterback for the Arena Football League&#8217;s newest team, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baltimorebrigade.com\/\">Baltimore Brigade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cartwright\u2019s football career began with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nauathletics.com\/sports\/fball\/index\">Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks<\/a> in 2010. During his time at NAU, he threw for 2,809 yards with 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions. As a sophomore, Cartwright broke into the Lumberjacks starting lineup. For that same performance, he received 7 Big Sky Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. Upon graduation, Cartwright competed in the Chicago Bears minicamp in 2015. At the Bears camp,\u00a0the Orlando Predators picked up Cartwright for his rookie season.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He began his rookie season as a quarterback for the Predators in 2016 but was<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0placed on injured reserve and became a free agent after that season. This arena football offseason, he was picked up by the Brigade coaching staff. Head coach for the Baltimore Brigade, Omarr Smith, thinks Cartwright will be a good addition to his squad.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cChase Cartwright is a highly competitive quarterback and has the traits to be a future star in this league,\u201d Smith said. \u201cHe has a talented arm, good technique, and fundamentals, and more importantly he is a good decision maker.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cartwright is ready to get back on the gridiron and train with some of the best in the league.\u00a0This week Cartwright will report to Baltimore to begin preparing for the 2017 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI&#8217;m really looking forward to getting back on the field and playing football again for a great franchise,\u201d Cartwright said. \u201cIt&#8217;ll also be nice to be around some of my teammates from Orlando who have signed with Baltimore as well.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2016, Cartwright joined National Scouting Report as a football scout based out of Arizona.
