Being Recruited Is Too Important to Be Left to Chance\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Think for a moment what you really want to achieve.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coaches would evaluate you today, if they only knew you were out there.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

If it’s to play college level sports, examine even closer what you must overcome to compete for a scholarship offer.\u00a0 The hurdles are many, so nothing can be left to chance, but do you have enough knowledge about recruiting to support the\u00a0position you\u00a0are now taking?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simply stated, you are either in the recruiting game, or you are outside looking in.\u00a0 Which are you, in or out?\u00a0 Where do you really, truly stand?\u00a0 Or, do you even know?\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stay with me.\u00a0 This is important.\u00a0 When you want to improve in your sport, do you seek out expert advice?\u00a0 Sure, you do.\u00a0 Running coaches, hitting coaches, throwing coaches, strength coaches\u00a0and other <\/a>professionals are all in place to help you get better, to reach the next level, right?\u00a0\u00a0Another question:\u00a0 Do you use the same, old\u00a0equipment your parents or your older siblings used when they played the game?\u00a0 Of course not.\u00a0\u00a0Advancements in\u00a0equipment have made it necessary\u00a0for you to\u00a0purchase them\u00a0so that you can compete, even to gain an advantage, right?\u00a0 Absolutely.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

See where we are going?\u00a0 So, in recruiting, why would you consider using outdated procedures and take advice from people who either have no clue what the recruiting process is really like or who occasionally dabble in it?\u00a0 Does that make any sense, especially when getting a scholarship can mean over a $100K to you and your family?\u00a0 (You may want to read that paragraph again.)\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you are trying to promote yourself to college coaches, you are using old fashioned methods to get the word out.\u00a0 If you are depending on your coaches to find you a scholarship, think about it, can they possibly spend the time necessary to contact all the coaches in the area or region, much less the country?\u00a0 Not a chance.\u00a0 It is a myth that coaches can do everything you need done to properly promote you to colleges.\u00a0 They may try hard, and we love coaches, but they are not experts at the recruiting process and they are not trained professionals in promoting high school athletes like you\u00a0to college coaches.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Waiting or using outdated methods will not help your chances. Get real.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Down and dirty, all fluff aside, here’s the bottom line:\u00a0 college coaches cannot recruit you if they do not know\u00a0about you, your athletics skills and stats, along with your academic history.\u00a0\u00a0So,\u00a0although you might send info to a few schools yourself, that one-time effort is lost on\u00a0lots of other coaches who may indeed need someone just like you to fill their recruiting needs.\u00a0 Your coach might call a few of his contacts, but it will\u00a0be a few and that is not enough to do the\u00a0job the right way.\u00a0 It’s not even close.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We see it time and time again.\u00a0 Kids who deserve to play college sports\u00a0go unrecruited because they thought coaches would find them in the local newspaper\u00a0or on the post-season awards list or\u00a0on a travel or club team\u00a0roster.\u00a0 If you are one of those kids, go sit in your parents lap right now and plead with them to get over it.\u00a0 It is time to do something\u00a0which really works!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
