Get Scouted Scouting CareersLife has been a snap for Jack Hadley, who has been the center of attention at several state, regional and national long-snapping events this summer.
Hadley, a 2018 National Scouting Report football prospect from Forked River, N.J., placed second out of 80 long snappers last week at the Chris Rubio Long Snapping National Underclassmen Invitational at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
But that’s just for starters.
A 6-2½, 280-pound center/long snapper, Hadley also was named the top offensive lineman at the 2016 NUC East Coast Showcase; top snapper at the Rutgers University Snapping Camp; and made the final showcase at the Rutgers Tri-State Camp. He is ranked 20th nationally among 2018 long snappers by Rubio Long Snapping.
Hadley earned high praise from Rubio, a former three-year starter and standout long snapper at UCLA.
“Hadley was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping camp in Chicago,” Rubio wrote in his evaluation of Hadley in April. “The kid has improved as quickly as anyone I have ever had go through Rubio Long Snapping. Keep a very close eye on him.”
“Jack continues to improve and showed tremendous skill at the Rubio Long Snapping camp in New Jersey,” Rubio wrote in May. “Physically ready for college. Snap is smooth and effortless.”
Hadley hopes to have a big junior year at Donovan Catholic, a prestigious private school in Toms River, New Jersey. A three-sport letterman in football, track and baseball, he rarely comes off the field. He plays center on offense, defensive tackle on defense and long snapper on special teams.
Much of Hadley’s success can be attributed to his relentless work ethic and increased strength. Since the start of high school in 2014, his bench press has improved from 165 to 275, his squat from 315 to 430 and his dead lift from 335 to 455.
Hadley is also a standout in the classroom with a 4.2 grade-point average. He plans to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and/or Sports Medicine in college with hopes of joining his older brother in a Chiropractic business.
“My goal as a football player is to consistently strive to do what is best for not only me, but also for my teammates,” Hadley wrote in his personal message to college coaches. “I treat my coaches and teammates with the same respect I treat my own family members.”
Since enrolling with NSR in late June, Hadley has received lots of attention from college coaches. A huge Ohio State fan, he would love to play for the Buckeyes, but is open to schools on all levels.
“Coming up through a Catholic football program, I feel I have been shaped into a young man who has outstanding traits to offer a collegiate program,” Hadley wrote. “I am not afraid to step up and take a leadership role and have done so throughout my athletic career.”
