Who is working for you in recruiting today? And, what are they doing for you?
Those are two questions you should ask yourself every day. Nothing is more important to your athletic future.
You are competing with thousands of athletes for the scholarship offer you want so badly. And when you are in a competition, to win you have to be working hard every day, right? You would not imagine not practicing every day for a big game, match, meet or tournament, would you? No, not a chance.
I know that you would be working your tail off to get even a slight advantage. Winners work hard and take control of their destiny. Losers sit back and let things happen to them. To be a winner in recruiting, there is no difference. You have to work hard every day to win your scholarship offer.
But there’s school, maybe you have a part-time job, practice, traveling to contests, hanging with friends and family, working on your hobbies, and then there’s just life in general. The time you have to spend on recruiting seems to be less and less.
So what can you do? Where can you turn? Who will help you get this recruiting thing done?
Your coaches? They have jobs, families and don’t really know many college coaches, if any. How can they squeeze in time to work just for you? They all have big hearts and want to help, but they just don’t have the time, do they? High school and travel coaches truthfully have limited relationships and access to the college coaches.
Your parents? They are busy, busy people, too, and really know nothing about recruiting. The want to help, but where do they even start?
