A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, Antonelli decided to go into journalism and was hired as a sportswriter at local newspaper 1985. Antonelli was immediately assigned to cover the Mike Tyson beat and eventually got to know the major players in professional boxing, including Don King, Bill Cayton, Donald Trum and Bob Arum. During his twelve-year reign, Antonelli went on to win numerous New York State Publishers Association awards for his work. Despite his efforts in the boxing field, Antonelli still managed to cover the high school sports beat. He maintained close relationships with area high school and college staff of two newspapers. Now, the Area Director of the Upstate New York National Scouting Report, Antonelli plans to use his contacts to help qualified student-athletes gain exposure for the purpose of getting a scholarship. |
