     My name is Steve Nibbs and I am the NSR scout for Western Maryland. I am a physical education teacher and softball coach in Frederick County. I have been teaching for 30 years and coaching for 31. I was a football coach for 25 years and for the past 11 years I have been the head softball coach at Thomas Johnson High School. I received a bachelor of science degree from Frostburg State University where I played both football and baseball throughout my college career and in 1987 I received a Master's degree from Hood College. I have been married to my wife Laura for 19 years. We have two children, Jill and Joe, and three grandchildren, Cole, Grace, and Maddie. As an educator and coach, my goal is to inform and promote high school student-athletes in order to enhance their opportunities for academic and athletic success at the collegiate level.

Mr. Davenport learned to play ice hockey in upstate New York, playing four years of varsity prep-school hockey and winning a state championship one year. Recruited by the State University of New York at Oswego and given a scholarship to play Division II hockey. After college and continuing to play he moved to semipro leagues in upstate New York, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. He has been involved in youth hockey in Maryland since moving to Frederick in 1989. He has been an instructor and a coach for Prostart Hockey owned and operated by Craig Laughlin. He has also been influential in developing an ice-skating facility and travel hockey club in the Frederick area. Since moving to Maryland, he has achieved Level III referee status and referees many high school and upper level travel program games in Maryland and Virginia.
