Joe Herubin, a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Marketing/Management is the Northern Illinois Scouting Director for NSR. Joe played three years of Division I baseball at YSU, earning a full scholarship as a freshman walk-on in 1987. As a freshman he was named the teams Top Pitcher and the following year as a sophomore was named Team MVP. It was during his sophomore season he compiled a pitching record of 9-1, which remains the school record for most wins in a single season. Half way through his junior year a rotator cuff injury ended his collegiate career.

In addition to playing, Joe's passion for baseball led him into coaching and instructing at the high school and youth levels. Over a thirteen year period from 1992 through 2005 he spent time as a high school Head Coach and Pitching Coach, youth league coach, while also providing individual instruction to prospective young pitchers.

Personal Message:
As a former division I athlete and high school coach I have an excellent perspective of what it takes to be recruited and what it takes to play at the college level. I am dedicated to educating high school student-athletes and their parents about the recruiting process and the A,B,C's of recruiting. My goal in partnership with NSR, is to is to provide every qualified student-athlete in Illinois a means to be identified, evaluated, and ultimately offered an athletic scholarship.

Family:
Joe resides in Lake Villa, Illinois with his wife Karen and three children Billy, Max and Nolan.
